About Zhou Zhen Chinese Art

Zhou Zhen is a self-trained Chinese artist who specializes in traditional methods of Woodblock Prints created on Chinese Silk.  After studying English at Beijing Foreign Studies University, Zhou Zhen decided to teach himself wood carving and traditional hand-painting, and for several years owned a New Year painting store in Yangliuqing, China. He divides his time between Shandong Province, China and Chicago, IL, where he continues his carving and painting  – and now sells his artwork to people who appreciate Chinese history and culture.

Yangliuqing is a small village in Tianjin, China, which has a long history of producing many beautiful traditional paintings throughout the centuries. Yangliuqing has been famous for its New Year woodblock paintings, and it was in this village that Zhou Zhen first created his classic and authentic artwork.

Zhou Zhen believes it is important to maintain Traditional Paintings in Chinese art methods in order to preserve the culture and history of China.
